DENVER—Last night, U.S. Representative Brittany Pettersen (CO-07) held a Telephone Town Hall to speak directly with constituents, answers their questions, and provide an update on the state of the economy and Colorado’s 7th Congressional District. Nearly 5,000 Coloradans joined the call and asked questions ranging from social security delays and rising costs, to child care access and how Pettersen is combatting partisanship. She was joined by economic analysis expert Associate Dean and Senior Economist at the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado at Boulder, Dr. Richard Wobbekind.
“While our country has had the strongest recovery in the world from the economic fallout caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, there is still work to be done to address the challenges too many Americans are dealing with everyday,” said Pettersen. “The rising cost of goods is only one of the aspects making it difficult for hardworking Coloradans to make ends meet. Health care costs, housing affordability, and a lack of child care are all compounding barriers for people trying to find and keep jobs. I was glad to offer this convenient way for my constituents to connect with me over the phone so we could discuss these issues and what I’m doing in Congress to help. I look forward to hosting more in-person town halls and events across the district as the year goes on.”
During the Telephone Town Hall, Pettersen highlighted legislation she has been working on to address the opioid crisis, make communities safer, lower costs, protect the environment, and bring more federal dollars to Colorado. She also outlined the services her offices in Lakewood and Cañon City can provide to assist residents with passport challenges, social security, Medicare and Medicaid, veteran benefits, immigration, and other federal agencies. Constituents who are seeking more information on any ongoing bills or projects, or who need help from her office, should visit pettersen.house.gov or call 303-274-7944.
