Rep. Pettersen Hears Directly From Coloradans at Town Hall with Record-Breaking Attendance

Over 1,800 Coloradans joined Pettersen’s town hall in growing attempt to hold Trump and Musk accountable

LAKEWOOD – Today, U.S. Representative Brittany Pettersen (CO-07) hosted an in-person town hall with Attorney General Phil Weiser and Mayor Wendi Strom to hear directly from Coloradans. More than 1,800 people were present – a record-breaking amount of attendees – as Pettersen discussed her work to fight back against Trump’s reckless policies.

Since taking office, Donald Trump and Elon Musk have fired thousands of federal employees– threatening Social Security, SNAP, Medicare, wildfire mitigation, VA services, and crucial programs for millions of veterans, seniors, children, and families. The elected officials answered questions concerning mass layoffs of federal workers, Elon Musk’s access to sensitive data, and what they are doing to combat the Trump administration’s reckless policies.

“Today, over a thousand Coloradans showed up to participate in our democracy and make their voices heard,” said Pettersen. “Their message was loud and clear: we are not going to sit by as Trump threatens to take food off the plates of our kids and health care away from seniors, veterans, moms, and those who need it most – all to fund tax breaks to big corporations and billionaires at the expense of regular people. I promise to do everything in my power to fight back against the reckless attacks that threaten our kids and families, our democracy, and our future.”

Since Trump took office, Pettersen’s office has fielded thousands of calls, with constituents expressing concerns about rising costs, attacks on health care, and threats to the federal workforce and our democracy.
