Rep. Pettersen Delivers Valentines to Local Veterans

DENVER—Today, U.S. Representative Brittany Pettersen (CO-07) delivered Valentine’s Day cards to local veterans through the Jefferson County Veterans Services Office and Veterans Affairs Clinic in Golden, as part of Valentines for Veterans, a program she launched to show appreciation for veterans in Colorado’s 7th Congressional District.

“As a new member of the United States Congress, I’m excited to help the veterans in Colorado’s Seventh District with everything from filing claims and expediting responses, to increasing funding for veterans for housing and access to health care services,” said Pettersen. “One way we can show our support to the men and women who served our country is by coming together around Valentine’s Day to send our thanks in the form of cards and kind notes. I’m thankful to all the incredible and creative kids in our community for participating in the Valentines for Veterans program in its inaugural year!”

Pettersen’s office collected dozens of cards and kind notes made by children in the community, with most coming from students at Kendrick Lakes Elementary School. The Veterans Services office, where Pettersen dropped off the cards, assists many of the veterans living throughout Jefferson County manage their benefits and available services.
