Rep. Pettersen Launches Valentines for Veterans Program

DENVER—Today, U.S. Representative Brittany Pettersen (CO-07) announced her Valentines for Veterans program, encouraging families and students to show appreciation for veterans with homemade Valentine’s Day cards. Residents can bring the cards to Pettersen’s Lakewood district office starting on Monday, February 6 through Friday, February 10. Once received, the valentines will be distributed to veterans living and working across Colorado’s 7th Congressional District.

“As a new member of the United States Congress, I’m excited to help the veterans in Colorado’s Seventh District with everything from filing claims and expediting responses, to increasing funding for veterans for housing and access to health care services,” said Pettersen. “One way we can show our support to the men and women who served our country is by coming together around Valentine’s Day to send our thanks in the form of cards and kind notes. I encourage everyone in our community to participate in the Valentines for Veterans program, especially all the incredible and creative kids in our area.”

Cards can be dropped off or mailed to Pettersen’s Lakewood district office by the deadline on Friday, February 10. The office hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. If anyone has questions about the program, they can call her office at (202)-225-2645.
