I visited communities across our district over the past few weeks and loved talking with people in Lake County about what makes it such an incredible place to live. I met with local leaders and toured places meeting critical needs in our community, like the National Fish Hatchery in Leadville. The workers here help keep the tourism industry alive and are propelling efforts to increase our endangered fish populations.

I also got to meet with the staff at Cloud City Conservation Center, which is one of the only places in Leadville where people are able to grow vegetables for the community. They are working to address the lack of access to vegetables and rising costs of produce, while teaching students how to grow their own food.
