The first round of enrollment for Jeffco public schools is right around the corner, and we are here to help! I’ve heard from so many parents in our community that the public school enrollment process for families in Jeffco can be incredibly confusing, especially for parents of first-time students.
As a mom myself, I know firsthand how challenging and overwhelming the process can feel. My job as your representative is to connect you with important resources, so I wanted to share more information on how to navigate the public school enrollment process.
While 2024 is not over yet, the enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year is right around the corner. Round 1 enrollment window for Jeffco public schools opens December 5, 2024.
Please read below for a detailed breakdown of the steps needed to complete the enrollment process.
Step 1 is visiting the EnrollJeffco website to start the process. For families new to Jeffco schools, you will need to create an account. If you have a student who is currently attending a Jeffco public school, you probably already have an account. All families will need to partake in the enrollment process, even if they currently have a student enrolled in a Jeffco public school. Whether you're new to Jeffco or returning to the same school, enrollment must be completed through EnrollJeffco!
Step 2 is adding your student to your account by clicking the magenta “Add Student” button on your homepage.
Step 3 is applying to schools. You can use the School Finder to search for a school fit best to your needs. You can search schools by name, location, or other criteria like Dual Language. Additionally, families can view school insights on school culture, teacher-to-student ratios, student academic performance, and information about each school. After narrowing down your top three schools, you can apply to the schools directly through your EnrollJeffco account. All students must complete the selection process, even if they intend to return to the same school.
Step 4 is responding to your enrollment offer. Jeffco public schools operate on a lottery system and schools will continue to send out offers as space becomes available. You will receive updates on your application status through email and/or text messages. Once you receive an offer, you will have three days to accept.
Step 5 is uploading the required documentation. After accepting an offer, families of new students will upload all required documents to their EnrollJeffco accounts. Below is a list of the required documents:
- Parent or legal guardian photo ID
- Documentation of student's identity
- For example: birth certificate, passport, state-issued ID or other reliable document
- Immunization Records
- Proof of address

Step 6 is completing your household registration. After uploading your required documents, you will receive a link to complete your registration process. You can also complete the registration by clicking the blue “Action Required” box at the top of the EnrollJeffco homepage.
Timeline:
The Round 1 enrollment window is December 5, 2024 - January 17, 2025. All applications are entered into the lottery process. The time submitted does not impact your priority or placement in that process.
*If you miss Round 1 enrollment, you will have another opportunity to enroll during Round 2 enrollment, starting January 23, 2025. All applications submitted during Round 2 are sent offers or placed on a school's waitlist at the bottom of their priority group in the order the applications are submitted.
