Remember to Get Your Flu and COVID Shots

Dear [firstname],

Nobody wants to start the new year with a cold, the flu, or another illness like RSV or COVID-19. As the mom of a three year old, I know how tough flu season can be on a family. I want to share with you some resources and information to help keep you and your family healthy this year.

TIPS TO STAY SAFE THIS COLD AND FLU SEASON

Individuals with certain health conditions, pregnant women, young children, and seniors are all considered high-risk for severe complications caused by flu, COVID-19, and RSV infections. To protect yourself and your loved ones from severe illness this winter, get vaccinated from COVID and the flu and consult your doctor if you have more questions.

  • It’s tricky to tell the difference between RSV, flu, COVID-19, or an everyday cold. So if you feel sick, make sure to stay home if you can and get tested to be sure.

  • Take precautions like washing your hands frequently and covering coughs and sneezes with your elbow to prevent the spread of seasonal illnesses.

  • Avoid touching your face with unclean hands.

FINDING VACCINATIONS

Getting vaccinated is the best way to protect yourself, your family, and your community.

Medicare, Medicaid, CHP+, and most private health insurers cover the full cost of the flu vaccine. You don’t have to pay anything to health care providers that accept your health plan. If you don’t have health insurance, you can still get the flu vaccine for free at certain health care providers.

For more information about vaccines and to find a provider or clinic to administer them to you and your family, please visit https://cdphe.colorado.gov/immunizations/get-vaccinated or https://fluvaxcolorado.org/.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to my office for questions, concerns, or help with a federal agency. To stay up-to-date on how I'm fighting for you in Congress, follow me on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
