TIPS TO STAY SAFE THIS COLD AND FLU SEASON
Individuals with certain health conditions, pregnant women, young children, and seniors are all considered high-risk for severe complications caused by flu, COVID-19, and RSV infections. To protect yourself and your loved ones from severe illness this winter, get vaccinated from COVID and the flu and consult your doctor if you have more questions.
- It’s tricky to tell the difference between RSV, flu, COVID-19, or an everyday cold. So if you feel sick, make sure to stay home if you can and get tested to be sure.
- Take precautions like washing your hands frequently and covering coughs and sneezes with your elbow to prevent the spread of seasonal illnesses.
- Avoid touching your face with unclean hands.
FINDING VACCINATIONS
Getting vaccinated is the best way to protect yourself, your family, and your community.
Medicare, Medicaid, CHP+, and most private health insurers cover the full cost of the flu vaccine. You don’t have to pay anything to health care providers that accept your health plan. If you don’t have health insurance, you can still get the flu vaccine for free at certain health care providers.
