2023 Year in Review

Dear [firstname],

It is the greatest honor of my life to be able to represent you in Congress. I grew up in this district and served in the Colorado state legislature for a decade before heading to D.C. to increase opportunities for regular people like me. While far too many people in Washington are focused on partisanship and dysfunction, I’ve spent this first year working on delivering real results.

We’ve helped thousands of residents, secured millions in grant funding, and worked on legislation to address the opioid crisis and increase access to affordable housing and childcare. As we gear up for next year, I want to hear from you:

What should be our top priority in Congress next year?

Jobs and the economy

Climate change

Housing affordability

Gun violence prevention

Reproductive health care

I’ve spent the past year visiting communities across Colorado's 7th district and talking with people about how we can work together to make our state an even better place to live. After my inauguration, I was quick to open offices in Lakewood and Cañon City and we’ve held dozens of events, office hours, meetings, and discussions with constituents. Your experiences and feedback are invaluable, and they guide my work in Washington every day.

This year, I’ve met with business leaders across Fremont and Chaffee counties,  toured affordable housing projects and child care facilities in Jefferson County, announced $10 million for clean-up efforts in our state alongside U.S. Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland, and so much more. At town halls in Westminster and Buena Vista, I heard directly from residents and local leaders about their concerns with the opioid crisis, the rise in gun violence, and illegal street racing.

Statistics on Year 1

I’m proud of everything my team has been able to accomplish this year for Colorado’s 7th Congressional District. We’ve helped thousands of Coloradans with everything from backlogged veterans’ benefits to missing social security checks, stalled passports, and more. Just check out what William from Lakewood had to say about his experience:

“I have never experienced such a positive and helpful response from any elected official or their staff ever in my 51 years. I worked with Team Pettersen on an issue with the IRS and the help I received was remarkable. I am so grateful and appreciative!”

If you need help with any federal agency, please contact my office at 303-274-7944. We are here to support and advocate for you.
