Talking Climate with the VP Dear [firstname],  This week, I was honored to host Vice President Kamala Harris in our home state to discuss one of the most urgent threats we face to our Colorado way of life—the climate crisis. I’ve only been serving you in Washington for over a couple of months, but I’ve been fighting climate change for years in Colorado. Having the chance to sit down with the Vice President and world-renowned climber Sasha DiGiulian in our district to discuss these issues was a truly surreal experience.

Talking Climate with the VP

Dear [firstname],

This week, I was honored to host Vice President Kamala Harris in our home state to discuss one of the most urgent threats we face to our Colorado way of life—the climate crisis. I’ve only been serving you in Washington for over a couple of months, but I’ve been fighting climate change for years in Colorado. Having the chance to sit down with the Vice President and world-renowned climber Sasha DiGiulian in our district to discuss these issues was a truly surreal experience.

In Colorado, we are far too familiar with the effects of the climate crisis as our water dries up and our wildfire "season" has become a year-round problem. But because of leaders like the Vice President and the packages passed through Congress last session, I have hope for the future.

Protecting Our Kids

Congress has an obligation to address the climate crisis, not just for the next generation, but for the current one. My son Davis is only three and I’m terrified about how the climate crisis will impact his future, but I’m also concerned about the health impacts it’s having on kids and families like ours right now.

Here I am with my family and Sasha DiGiulian backstage about to talk climate policy.

Under the Biden-Harris Administration, Colorado has seen billions of federal dollars go towards wildfire prevention, lead pipe replacement, and transportation improvements. I am also excited by new technologies like electric school buses that have the potential to improve our air quality and protect the health of our children. It’s clear that Democrats are delivering for the American people, and I’m committed to being a partner to the White House to ensure our kids have a future in this state.

To stay up to date on everything I'm doing for you in Congress, follow me on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

Thank you and have a great day!
