As your member of Congress, I’m committed to bringing the voices of Colorado’s 7th Congressional District with me to Washington. This summer, I traveled across our district to host open and productive conversations about the issues that matter most to people like you.

Do you think Congress should do more to support rural communities?

I visited communities across our district over the past few weeks and loved talking with people in Chaffee County about what makes it such an incredible place to live. In Buena Vista, I hosted a town hall with Chaffee County Commissioner Keith Baker, Buena Vista Mayor Libby Fay, and Chaffee County Fire Rescue to talk about what our communities are doing to prepare for wildfires and extreme weather.

I also had the opportunity to go rafting in Browns Canyon with The Adventure Company, and join the FlyGals organization – created for women to support other women through fly fishing – for a fishing trip on the Arkansas River. The Arkansas River is the lifeline of Chaffee County. It’s essential that we work together to protect the water all of us rely on for tourism, residential and agricultural needs.

The 7th District represents the heart of Colorado and includes people from all walks of life. From the suburbs to the Arkansas River valleys, from the Front Range foothills to Rocky Mountain peaks – our people and ideas are just as diverse as our geography.
